Is Giving Assistant A Scam Or Do They Help You Save Money?

Is Giving Assistant A Scam

Two things I like is saving money and charity work, this is a merged concept that I have come across recently with a cashback site Giving Assistant that claims to do just that. Help you save money while donating simultaneously, sounds great right? However not every site is what they claim to be which is why it is important you always do your research.

In this review I will be taking you through everything you need to know about this site which includes do they help you save money, are they genuine and most importantly is Giving Assistant a scam. Which I'm sure is something you would like to know as you are here on this post.

Summary:

Giving Assistant is a cashback site that helps you save money when you shop with your favourite retailers while also donating to charity

 What Is Giving Assistant?

Giving Assistant is a platform that helps people save money on their purchases from various stores. They work with over 3000+ retailers and offer a free service where anyone can sign up to take advantage of what they have to offer. They are a certified B Corp that is aiming to donate $20 million before 2020 comes around.

Now what separates a site like Giving Assistant to others like iBotta and Swagbucks for e.g is that every time you use there coupons they donate to charity. Which is a great incentive to use them as not only are you saving money for yourself but you are also funding the work of different charity's.

How Do You Get Started?

As you can imagine getting started with a cashback site it isn't that hard and with Giving Assistant you can have a account set up within a few minutes. You can make a account using your email address or you can use your Facebook account which is another option.

When I signed up I was greeted with two membership options that I could choose, one was free called the 'savvy shopper' and the other one you will need to pay $4.99 a month for. The free membership contains everything you need to save money such as a average of 10% cashback on purchases, it also includes weekly payouts, customer service and free donations on every purchase.

For the paid membership which is labelled the 'power shopper' includes everything the 'savvy shopper' has but 2 times the cashback on purchases. So if you find you are purchasing a lot of your items online then making most of the paid membership could be the way to go.

Once you have chosen your membership they then recommend that you install the Chrome extension button for your browser. What this does is alert you whenever there is a new offer for that site.

Giving Assistant Toolbar

For e.g when I go on Walmart I see at the time of writing this review a 1.1% cashback plus an additional 47 different offers to choose from that will save me money when I purchase certain items.

How Do You Start Saving Money?

Once you have found one of the 6000 stores they are partnered with that you would like to purchase goods from, you will need to click on the giving assistant toolbar and click the activate button. By doing this you are connecting your account so when you complete the purchase the cashback is credited to your account.

This can take some time to process and they advise that you give it 1 or 2 days for the money to be put in pending. So don't panic if you complete the purchase and check your account to see nothing as it takes time.

Unfortunately the waiting doesn't end there as your earnings may stay in pending for 90 days and sometimes more. After it has left pending they will be eligible to be withdrawn which takes me onto the next point.

Making Money Also?

Many sites I have tried look to gain popularity by promoting there companies and sites. Something I have seen many sites do is introduce a referral program for existing members where they can make money when they refer people to the site.

Giving Assistant Referral Program

This is something that stands out with Giving Assistant as they offer a great opportunity for you to also make money and not just save.

For every referral who joins using your link and saves money using the site you will make $5, so the more referrals you can invite the more you can make. They incentive in use here is that each person who signs up also gets $5 credited to there account to get them up and running, so its something that appeals to both the existing and new member.

Getting referrals can be hard if you don't know how to, so if you want to check out my number 1 guide for getting referrals to sites like Giving Assistant then check out my #1 recommended platform here. Instead you can also take a look at my quick 3 efficient ways to get referrals guide here also

When Do You Get Paid?

In order to get paid you will need a available balance of $5.99, so lets say you complete your first purchase of $60 at there average cashback rate of 10% that would give you $6 in cashback that you can then withdraw.

You can choose whether to receive your earnings through PayPal or Check with payments being issued on a weekly basis.

Giving Assistant Payout

Alternatively what you can do with your change is donate them to charity which is awesome. I know some of my readers like to complete surveys and choose the donate option instead of receiving cash, so I'm sure many would like this option that Giving Assistant as.

I must say again though that while the above is an example of how much you may need to spend to qualify for your first cashback payout that I don't recommend buying goods just to get cashback.

Instead only use a site like Giving Assistant if you are purchasing goods online like you would normally be doing and using there service while doing so.

So Is Giving Assistant A Scam?

I have to admit I am impressed with what Giving Assistant as to offer. I have used cashback sites in the past and when I have gone to search up a certain retailer they may not have them, so with the 6000 stores there are plenty of stores to choose from.

As well as that I am a fan of saving money when possible and the additional incentive of donating money to charity is a great touch also.

If you are a frequent reader of my reviews you will know that I only recommend genuine opportunities that will help you make/save money, so I can say I do recommend Giving Assistant and if you want to check them out you can click on the button below.
